Does Square Allow Dropshipping?
Yes: Square promotes dropshipping and lists Spocket and Printful. The terms that still matter: supplier invoices, delivery, disputes and holds.
Article summary
TL;DR
Yes. Square's own guide says it "makes it easier to launch and manage a dropshipping business", and its App Marketplace lists Spocket and Printful. None of the 31 unsupported industries in its US terms names dropshipping. What gets stores frozen is around it: products on that list, long deliveries, "item not received" disputes, and supplier invoices you can't show.
- Square's "Dropshipping Guide 2026" (December 19, 2025) points sellers to Square Online and "dropshipping partners such as Spocket".
- Spocket's Square App Marketplace listing is available in the United States, Canada and Spain, updated April 17, 2025.
- Square's Payment Terms (July 30, 2026) list 31 unsupported industries; dropshipping isn't one of them.
- Square "may ask you to present invoices from your suppliers", and a refusal can lead to suspension or termination.
- Visa lets a customer dispute a non-delivery up to 120 days after the expected delivery date, within 540 days of processing.

What Square says about dropshipping
Square doesn't just allow it; it markets it. Its December 2025 guide says: "Square makes it easier to launch and manage a dropshipping business by giving you a complete commerce system in one place"1Square, The Bottom Line: Dropshipping Guide 2026, December 19, 2025, read November 3, 2026. The same guide answers "Is dropshipping legal?" with "Yes", and warns sellers to "pay attention to trademarks and intellectual property"1Square, The Bottom Line: Dropshipping Guide 2026, December 19, 2025, read November 3, 2026.
Square has no supplier catalog of its own. The dropshipping runs through apps connected to Square Online1Square, The Bottom Line: Dropshipping Guide 2026, December 19, 2025, read November 3, 20262Square App Marketplace, Spocket, updated April 17, 2025, read November 3, 20263Square App Marketplace, Printful, updated April 17, 2025, read November 3, 2026:
| Tool | What it does, per its Square listing | Where it's available |

| Spocket | "A dropshipping platform with global pre-vetted suppliers"; pushes products to your Square Online store | United States, Canada, Spain2Square App Marketplace, Spocket, updated April 17, 2025, read November 3, 2026 |

You may read on Square's forum that Square "doesn't offer" dropshipping. That's about a built-in feature, not a rule: the terms and the guide say nothing against the model1Square, The Bottom Line: Dropshipping Guide 2026, December 19, 2025, read November 3, 20264Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026.
What Square's unsupported list means for a dropshipping catalog
The list doesn't ban the model. It bans what some catalogs sell, and how they sell it4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026.
| Line in Square's Payment Terms, section 3 | What it means for a dropshipper |
|---|---|
| "(1) any illegal activity or goods" | Counterfeits and replicas from a supplier catalog |
| "(6) direct marketing or subscription offers or services" | Auto-ship offers sold through ads and funnels |
| "(13) up-sell merchants" | Funnels that stack upsells after the first order |
| "(20) high-risk products and services, including telemarketing sales" | Catalogs Square sees as high-risk |
| "(23) … weapons and other devices designed to cause physical injury" | Self-defense gadgets, knives, stun devices |
| "(24) internet/mail order/telephone order of age restricted products (e.g., tobacco)" | Vapes, tobacco accessories sold online |

A store selling generic products under its own name, one order at a time, with real delivery dates, doesn't match any of these lines.
Fits Square's terms
Generic or print-on-demand products under your brand, one-time orders, honest delivery dates.
Exposed
Auto-ship offers sold by direct marketing, upsell stacks, catalogs Square reads as high-risk.
Unsupported
Counterfeits, weapons, age-restricted products sold online.
The terms that matter for a dropshipper
Four clauses do more work than the list. Each one assumes you run the business, even when someone else ships4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026:
- Supplier invoices (section 9). "Square may ask you to present invoices from your suppliers", ID or a business license. "If you refuse any of these requests, your Square Account may be suspended or terminated." Keep supplier invoices that match your products and volumes.
- Real, accurately described sales (section 36). Each transaction must be "a bona fide sale" that "accurately describes the goods" and you "will fulfill all of your obligations to the customer".
- Customer service is yours (section 33). You are "solely responsible" for "order fulfillment, cancellations … returns, refunds". "My supplier is late" isn't an answer Square or the bank will accept.
- Your own sales only (section 23). "You will not use the Payment Services to handle, process or transmit funds for any third party." Dropshipping for other brands, and collecting their sales on your account, isn't allowed.
Watch out
The business name on your Square account "will appear on the credit or debit card statements of your customers"4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026. If buyers don't recognize it, they dispute. Square advises a customer-facing name that reflects what you sell6Square Support, Prevent payment disputes, read November 3, 2026.
Shipping times, disputes and holds
A late parcel is a dispute waiting to happen. "Goods or services not received" is one of the three most common dispute reasons Square names5Square Support, Manage payment disputes, read November 3, 2026. Under Visa's rules, a customer can dispute an order not received up to 120 days after the last date they expected it, capped at 540 days after processing (condition 13.1)7Visa Core Rules and Visa Product and Service Rules, edition of October 24, 2026, dispute condition 13.1.
So the delivery date you show at checkout sets your exposure. A promise of "5 to 7 days" on an order that takes 25 turns every slow parcel into a claim you'll lose.
Square's terms give it three levers when disputes rise4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026:
- Hold the disputed amount from your balance or linked bank account, as soon as the dispute opens5Square Support, Manage payment disputes, read November 3, 2026.
- Withhold likely disputes: if Square "reasonably believe[s] that a Chargeback is likely", it can hold that amount until the dispute window expires4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026.
- Add conditions on excessive chargebacks: new fees, a reserve, delayed payouts, or suspension of the Payment Services4Square, Payment Terms (US), sections 3, 7, 9, 12, 20, 21, 23, 33, 34 and 36, last updated July 30, 2026, read November 3, 2026.
